The therapist uses the International Classification of Functioning\, Disability\, and Health (ICF) model in a problem solving approach to assess activity and participation\, thereby to identify and prioritize relevant integrities and impairments as a basis for establishing achievable outcomes with clients and caregivers. An in-depth knowledge of the human movement system\, including the understanding of typical and atypical development\, and expertise in analyzing postural control\, movement\, activity\, and participation throughout the lifespan\, form the basis for examination\, evaluation\, and intervention. SUMMARY:Shamrock Marathon
DESCRIPTION:About:\nThe Yuengling Shamrock Marathon is the oldest continuously running road race in Virginia Beach! The marathon course is flat and fast\, making it the perfect place for a PR (personal record). Participants will enjoy spectators and entertainment along the course as well as a festive finish line celebration. \nMarathoners begin by heading north from the Virginia Beach resort area through welcoming neighborhoods. The course then traverses tree-lined Shore Drive as it winds along First Landing State Park on its way to Joint Expeditionary Base\, Ft. Story. In Ft. Story participants will pass by the site where John Smith\, Christopher Newport\, John Rolfe and the other Jamestown colonists first landed in America in 1607\, and by Cape Henry Lighthouse–the oldest standing lighthouse in the United States. The course then heads south into the resort area\, across Rudee Inlet–the gateway to the Atlantic Ocean–and through stately neighborhoods and the Camp Pendleton military base. Participants return north before finishing on the world famous Virginia Beach Boardwalk.  The finish line awaits you just past the majestic figure of King Neptune with the beautiful Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop.

Coaches paths\, a wave attenuation system\, a multi-function boathouse and athlete training center\, starting huts and finish towers\, grand stands and a state of the art boat maintenance and testing facility are just some of the numerous amenities the venue will offer. Most of these facilities will be constructed on a first of its kind “regatta island” an Olympic Village type setting which will provide competitors the support and focus which rowing demands\, and spectators a viewing and entertainment platform unparalleled at courses elsewhere in the world. \nThe Park will also be home to numerous other paddle sport competitions\, from dragon boats to canoe and kayak races\, as well as triathlon and cross country events.
