My Story
Fitness has been a big part of my life and I am passionate about it. I was ran over when I was 11 years old and my parents where told I was going to die when I was in my comma on a ventilator for 6 weeks. I had to learn to walk, talk etc all over again and fitness played a big part of getting to me where I am now. I have been left with a head injury and a few problems in life but I be where I am now if it wasn't for fitness and exercise.
I got on the Great Britain Canoe Sprint squad when I was 16 and competed in the European Championships in Milan and won Gold and Silver for the country. I then went back to Milan the following year and competed in the World Cup and won Gold and Bronze for the country. I retired after achieving that goal in my life and only canoe for fitness now. I am a regular Rock Climber to and enjoy pushing my body to achieve goals. I want my experiences in my life to inspire people to achieve their goals. So I decided to train as a fitness instructor while I work in my current security job.
I found LifeTime Training last year and started a fitness instructor course. I completed my Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification this February and then started training towards my level 3 fitness instructor in February. Then I got married at the end of February.
Then the coronavirus struck the world and all the gyms closed, which stopped me in my track to working in the fitness industry. I had to rethink my business model. I had set up a website and a Facebook page when I started on my journey to become a fitness instructor. I then had the idea of setting up a YouTube channel 'Gorilla Man Fitness' and posting fitness videos from my gym in my cellar at home each week.
I have since qualified as a PT with my fitness Diploma and Gorilla Man Fitness has gone from strength to strength with our YouTube Channel. MaxiMuscle have become a sponsor and are working with me now through there MaxiTeams.
I am running my first Half Marathon on Sunday to
