I developed bilateral foot drop two years ago. There is no known reason for it. I am a retired engineer now serving as administrator in my church. I spent 9 months with a walker after face planting in my orthopedists office. Last may I finally relearned to walk, with two afos. Pt twice per week, gym 2-3 times and seemingly endless exercise. wit the foot drop went the balance so that was a struggle and although I cannot stand for long I can once again stand.

No one knows the cause except that the sural and peroneal nerves simply don't work.
